One of the reasons I probably got so injured was due to my choice of outfit. I was trying to be all cute and girly, picking a sundress when I should have focused some more on protecting myself. I definitely learnt my lesson. Paintball can get really messy and the last thing you should be worried about is your outfit getting dirty.
In today’s blog post, I would be sharing some great options of outfits you can wear for a paintball game. These looks would be a little stylish but definitely practical while you go out there and have fun. I’ll warn you; this is not the time to whip out your designer brands and labels.
If you’re heading from a more formal event to go play a game of paintball, I suggest having a change of clothes. Pencil skirts and short shorts are not the most practical items to wear on the field. If you know there is going to be mud or rain, I even suggest you wear some of your old clothes. That way you won’t mind if they get a little (or very) dirty).

If you have never played paintball, I highly recommend it. It’s a fun team activity and you get lots of exercise in with all the running and hiding. There are some places that even use different types of paintball bullets that do not splatter paint all over. However, with all the protective gear you’ll have on, you should be most worried about getting paint in your hair.

Here are the best outfits you can wear to enjoy a game of paintball.
1) Jeans and a graphic tee
You want to keep your look simple when it comes to activities such as paintballing. This is to ensure you are comfortable and not worrying about your outfit getting dirty. A pair of your most comfortable jeans can be paired with either a simple t-shirt or a graphic tee. A graphic t-shirt lets you show off more of your personality.

You could complete your look with a baseball cap either for style or because you don’t want your hair to get too dirty. A lot of times, you would be wearing additional protection on top of your outfit. A jeans and tee makes it easy to layer on the chest protectors and other garments you may be provided.
2) T-shirt and cargo pants
This is a simple look you can create if your paintball session is combining into a date at the paintball arena. During the hot weather, you could opt for a cropped t-shirt to show some bare skin after the game is played. Cargo pants with a camouflage print are a great option as they hide dirt well and are also pretty stylish.

It’s always a good idea to wear long pants when headed to paintball arenas as they would help protect your knees if you fall. They would also keep the paint off of your legs which is especially important if you don’t have access to a shower right after.
3) Snow pants and a fitted sweater
During the winter months, you can still enjoy some paintball games by dressing warm. You could pair your snow pants with a fitted sweater for a simple outfit. Snow pants would keep your legs warm and offer extra protection for your legs, especially if you are not wearing knee pads. Choose a simple sweater in a dark color to pair with your snow pants.

The long sleeves would not only provide some extra warmth but would also protect your arms. If your sweater is thin, you may want to add a pair of elbow pads to prevent an elbow injury. If you’re planning on changing into a ghillie suit, you may want to wear a pair of leggings underneath your snow pants so you can change into your costume.

4) Leggings and a t-shirt dress
During the summer months, plans can change within seconds. One minute you’re sipping on bubble tea and the next, you’re being given a paintball jersey and a paintball mask. A simple outfit you could wear on days when you’re not sure where you’ll end up, leggings and a long shirt are a great option. This is a good choice if the arena you’re headed to provides protective clothing.

If this is your first time playing paintball, you can check with staff to see all of your options when it comes to protective equipment and clothing. Throw on a pair of old sneakers to complete your outfit. A long-sleeve shirt is a good idea during the colder months. You could complete your look with a pair of combat boots.
5) Long-sleeved shirt and jeans
Another simple and casual outfit you can put together for a round of paintball is a long sleeve shirt paired with jeans. This could be a flannel shirt or any of your simple old shirts. As for your choice of jeans, I suggest going for skinny jeans or a pair of straight legged jeans. This is because they won’t get in the way of your movements and allow you to move more freely.

Cropped jeans are also a great option. If you cannot get any of these types of jeans, you can always roll yours up to cuff them. Complete your look with a pair of sneakers and bandana tied across your head. I suggest choosing items in dark colors to hide as much dirt and paint as possible.

6) Bermuda shorts and a top
If it’s a really hot day, you could opt for a little clothing if you’re sure you would be able to wear some protective clothing. A pair of jean shorts or Bermuda shorts could be paired with a simple top with short sleeves. You may want to bring a change of clothes if possible. If you’re worried about bruising on your legs, you want to show as little skin as possible.

Paintball guns could feel a little weird if this is your first time. You may want to ask for a pair of fingerless gloves to protect your fingers from friction. This could lead to blisters if you’re playing for an extended period of time. The paintball gloves would also allow you to have a good grip on your gun, permitting you to focus on having a good time.
7) Sweater and track suit bottoms
It’s best to wear clothes that you’ve had for a while when going for a messy activity such as paintball. You don’t want to have any regrets if you’re not able to get the paint stains off of your clothes. If you’ve decided to head to the arena during the cold weather, you could pair one of your old sweaters with your old tracksuit pants.

This would allow you to be comfortable on the field. Tracksuit bottoms are also a good idea if you plan to change into camouflage overalls or whatever clothing you may be handed on site. They’re easy to rip off of your body versus pulling down and stepping out of them. Complete your look with a pair of sneakers or combat boots in a dark color.
8) Sweatpants and a sweatshirt
Your loungewear can make for a great outfit to wear to play paintball. If you’re bent on looking stylish, you could go with a matching set. You can also mix and match your sweatshirt with a different color of sweat pants. Once again, a set in a dark color such as black or brown is your best option. Just make sure it’s one you would not mind getting dirty.

A jogger set is a good option to wear in the cold weather. It’s also probably the best choice if you’re going on a paintball date and want to look cute. Make sure you tie your hair back and wear face protection. We wouldn’t want you injuring your beautiful face before you and your date head to dinner.
I hope this post has given you some great ideas of outfits you can wear to play paintball. Remember the most important thing is to be comfortable and choose clothes you do not mind getting dirty. It is advisable to bring a change of clothes if you know things are going to get really messy.
