Outfits to Wear With Lace Up Heels

We all know that high heels are the sexiest shoes to exist. A comfortable pair of heels elongates your legs, makes you bum stick out more and generally increases your confidence. One of the sexiest forms of heels you can wear are lace-up heels. There’s just something about the criss crossing details along the length of the leg that make it more appealing.

Lace-up shoes can take a casual outfit and make it look dressy thanks to their extra length. Don’t believe me? Try pairing your shorts and white tee with a pair of lace-up sandals next time and notice the difference. In today’s blog post, I would be covering different ways to pair lace up heels with pieces you most likely already own.

If you have wide calves like me, this is still a footwear trend you can rock. Our legs look just as sexy if not sexier than women with small calves when we rock lace up strappy heels. They can also make our legs look longer, which is never a bad thing.

Whether you’re working with low heels, high heels or flat lace up shoes, I’m going to show you how they can elevate your look in an instant.

1) Lace up heels with jeans

I’ve noticed two different ways to style a pair of jeans with lace up heels. With the first style, the lace up portion of the shoes is mostly hidden beneath the jeans. This style works best with wider legged jeans such as boyfriend jeans.

With the second option, the heels are laced up on top of the jeans. This works best with skinny jeans and cropped straight-leg jeans. You could take a page from how the model below styled her blue jeans with lace up heeled sandals to turn a casual outfit into a fancier one.

With both options, you can complete your look with a simple white tee for some casual wear. You could also swap your t-shirt for a chic blouse if you’re headed for date night.

2) Lace up heels with an oversized t-shirt

If you want to take the ‘just got out of bed’ look up a notch, throw on your boyfriend (or ex’s) t-shirt and a pair of black lace up heels. The shirt would act like a mini dress with all the attention going to your legs. This is not an outfit for the shy, but you can make it more conservative by adding a pair of faux leather leggings underneath.

3) Lace up heels with a mini skirt

A sexy outfit you could wear for girls’ night out would be a simple top paired with high lace up heels. Play around with colors by choosing a mini skirt in a bold color and a top in a complimentary color. You could even opt for chambray shirts which would add a casual vibe to your look. If you don’t want to be overly sexy, choose a long sleeve top to balance out the mini skirt.

4) Lace up heels with a midi dress

Instead of pairing your midi dresses with a pair of ballet flats or pumps as you would normally do, why not lace up in a pair of tie up heels? You could create a monochrome look by opting for a heels to match the color of your dress as seen below.

The white midi dress paired with white lace up heels creates a beautiful and clean look which I can see being worn for a bridal shower or a nice brunch. You can complete your look with a statement necklace.

5) Lace up heels with shorts

On a hot summer day, it’s easy to pair denim shorts with a crop top and head out the door. If you want to take this look up a notch, ditch your ballet flats or flip flops for a pair of open toe lace up heels. Keep your jewelry minimal with some simple gold earrings and add a crossbody bag.

This also works for your non denim shorts such as linen or cargo shorts which you could pair with a t-shirt blouse or crop top. You can always throw on a black leather jacket if it’s a cool summer night. This would also make your look sleeker.

I also love these lace up clear heels.

6) Lace up heels with a pencil skirt

If you are looking for a way to incorporate lace up heels to formal wear then this may be your best option. If your skirt is longer in length (knee-length or longer) then you could pair it with a long-sleeve top or button down blouse.

The shorter the skirt however, the more of your sexy lace up shoes you get to show off. Opt for stiletto heels if you are headed to a red carpet event and block heels if you’re dressing for a less formal event.

During the colder months, you could wear a sweater instead of a blouse or cropped top and add a pair of black tights for extra warmth.

7) Lace up heels with a summer dress

Make your summer dresses stand out more by pairing them with lace up heels or sandals. Platform heels would make your outfit more fun and flirty. You can keep the rest of your look simple with the focus being on your dress and shoes. The best dresses to pair with lace up shoes are knee-length or shorter.

8) Lace up shoes with pants

Add feminine vibes to a basic shirt and pants by pairing them with lace up heels. I recommend choosing cropped pants or culottes to really make this look stand out as full-length pants would mask the laced portion of your shoes. Another option is to roll up the cuffs of your pants as seen HERE. A white top could be paired with your pants for a clean look.
