Prime Day is July 12-13 this year and we all know it’s one of Amazon’s biggest shopping days. So many vendors offer great savings on so many products but remember, you have to be smart and strategic when it comes to Prime Day to avoid spending needlessly and to ensure you’re actually getting a deal. Here are the items I have my eye on and some items that you may find of value on Amazon.
Firstly, I am no Amazon shopping expert. I am not sure we can tell in advance which vendors would be participating in Prime Day sales nor the types of discounts we can expect from them. I don’t know that anybody can know this ahead of time. What I do know is that Amazon has millions of products and it’s so easy to get caught up in browsing that you forget to shop for what you truly need.
I personally create a wish list and add items to my cart. Then I take a screenshot of my cart to note the prices of the items. On Prime Day, I go to my cart and check to see if there’s been any discounts on the items in my cart and if so, I go ahead and purchase.
A tactic some vendors use is they mark up their items right before Prime Day and then add a discount to the inflated price so that it looks like you’re getting a deal when in actuality, you’re paying about the same as you would have on a regular day.
This year, my wish list varies from edible goods to vitamins to furniture and books – almost as diverse as the Amazon platform itself, haha.
I’ve noticed that the best Prime Deals seem to be on electronics so if you have those saved to your wish list, you may want to keep an eye on them for next week.

First on my list is a food item. I have become slightly addicted to salt-free pretzels! I find that salted pretzels give me sores in the corners of my mouth and are less healthy due to the high sodium content and so there are a better alternative.
Yupik seems to be the only brand currently selling them in Canada and they sell quickly and so I would grab these unsalted pretzels ASAP.
Second on the list is a new devotional.
To truly follow me on Instagram is to view my stories and note that I post daily devotions. The one I am currently reading is nearing its end and so I am looking for a replacement.
I like this one, specifically for the more anxious woman, called Worry Less, Pray More as well as Quiet Times with God devotional.
I like when my devotionals are more personable and not just Bible quotes with biblical explanations – no, I want to see how this has or can be applied in my day-to-day.

As I already have a particular theme and aesthetic going on, I am seeking more complimentary pieces and these are the ones I have an eye on:
Floating shelves are a great way to add dimension and depth to my smaller living space.
Ceramic vases are intended to be used to place my pampas grass on top of my console table once I get one.

In my bedroom, I’m looking for a narrow shelf I can place my printer at the bottom of and then a plant and possibly some work utensils as it would be next to my home desk.
This Furinno 99881 Corner shelving unit should do the trick.
The only electronic I might have on my list is this mini waffle maker. Who doesn’t love a tasty chicken and waffle brunch? With this, you get to create your own at home.
My showerhead emits some of the lowest pressure water I have experienced, and I hate it. You know how after a sweaty workout you just want to hop in a shower and feel that water blast your dirt away…yeah, I don’t get that. I get a trickle.
I can’t wait to replace my shower head with either this one or this one.
Right next to my console table and shoe rack at the entrance to my apartment, I intend to place a coat rack where I could also hang my umbrella.
I’m liking this simple white one.
The same brand, Simple houseware, also has this 3-tier stackable shoe rack I would like to add to my entryway. Nothing too bulky and it just blends in with the rest of my decor.
You know how sometimes you just need a littleee more storage in your bedroom for some miscellaneous items? That’s my current situation.
This practical dresser could go in the corner of my bedroom to eliminate a little closet overflow.
Speaking of decluttering, another chic way of going so is by getting an ottoman with storage such as this one and placing some items in there.
It would add some colour and furniture to your space while helping you declutter.
I had shared a corner shelf I wanted to add to my bedroom, well here is one (a little taller) I would like to add to my living room to hold some books, some plants and some decorative vases/jars.
Something else I would be using to decorate my shelves are candle holders such as this gold geometric one.

I’m currently on the search for a new tripod to replace mine which fell during a self-photography session. Since I carry mine around a lot, it has to be light but also a little sturdy against strong winds (which is how the last one broke).
I have my eye on this Amazon’s Choice tripod stand.
Or I may replace it with a ring light which comes with a tripod stand like this one:

The Fitbit Versa 3 may be going on sale during Prime Day so I suggest you keep an eye out!
If you’re interested in keeping track of your fitness levels but not quite ready to drop over $100 on a witness watch, how about this Mgaolo fitness tracker, which is actually the one I currently use?
You might not have as many cool and funky options but it does measure and keep track of the important stuff such as heart rate, step count and even lets you read your incoming messages on it!
Here’s a random item for you – my hairdresser had recommended this edge control for my very very stubborn hair and I intend to give it a try.
If you have very disobedient 4c hair, you may want to test it as well.
