7 Best Ways to Wear a Corset With Jeans

No, I am fortunately not going to be showing you how to style a Shakespearean corset because no one has 2 hours to waste getting laced up and untied each day.

In this blog post, I would be sharing the modern day take of the corset and different ways to style them with a pair of jeans.

The first thing that comes to mind when I think of a corset is ‘waist cincher.’ I am definitely a fan of corset-style tops, dresses and blouses because I love how they instantly shrink my waist and give me more of an hourglass shape.Post ImageNowadays, corsets can be spotted on the runway, red carpet as well as under so many wedding dresses but you don’t need a fancy event to be able to rock this style and I will be showing you more casual days to do so in this post.

Unlike your traditional corset which requires the hands of 2 or more people, and your wish to relinquish your rights to move freely, modern corset outfits can be worn to the mall, on a date or for a gathering with friends.

This is thanks to the fact the corsets now come in different style which could worn on top of an outfit or as a top.

If you’re here, it means you’re looking for ways to style your corset with jeans to match your personal style and so let’s dive right in.

7 Ways to Wear a Corset with Jeans

1) Bustier corset with a jacket

A bustier top is one of my favorite corsets to pair with my mom jeans and blazer. The bustier acts as a tank top but holds my waist even more while the mom jeans balance out the sexiness to make my outfit more casual and less feminine.

A bustier is a great way to dip your toes into this trend and if you don’t want to go full-blown into it right away.Post ImageFor a date night look to leave your date drooling, try pairing a bustier with skinny jeans and a pair of heels. Let the gagging begin.

I love this style of corset from Pretty Little Thing.

2) Corset on top of a button-down shirt

To achieve this look, I would recommend going with an underbust corset and a white button-down shirt.

This look could also work as a great Halloween costume should you need one last minute and you could even ditch the jeans. To top it off, you could tie a scarf on your head for some Jack Sparrow vibes.Post ImageHowever, if you do not wish to make this corset look too costume-y, opt for a pair of straight-leg jeans to go underneath your shirt. Or you can replace your button-down shirt with an oversized tee or t-shirt dress.

3) Worn as a crop top with a leather jacket

Leather jackets already make an outfit more sassy, now imagine taking it up a notch with a cropped corset. To make a style statement in this look, try opting for baggy pants and a leather corset (extra points if it’s a black leather corset).

Leather corsets with a sweetheart neckline would work perfectly here and could be paired with a mini skirt or leather pants.

If leather jackets aren’t your thing, you could replace them with black blazers. Complete your look with some ankle boots and you’re good to go.Post Image4) Denim corset with denim

Whenever I see a denim corset, it reminds me of Britney Spears’ iconic denim outfit she wore to the 2001 AMA’s. Who can forget that?

You don’t necessarily have to full Canadian tuxedo but pairing a denim corset or bustier with your favorite pair of jeans is one of many cool ways to take the everyday corset look to another level.Post ImageThe perfect way to style this look in the Fall is by throwing on a pair of thigh high boots and a bomber jacket.

5) Wearing a corset on top of a long-sleeve dress

One way of styling a corset which I have pinned to my Pinterest board is by pairing a corset with a sweater dress. This look would probably work best with longline corsets which tend to come as overbust corsets as well.

A the bottom of a longline corset hits just beneath the belly button and so using this style of corset would maintain the look of a dress, just giving my old boring sweater dress a new look.Post ImageI would then add a pair of black jeans, tights or leggings to complete my look. What do we think of this kind of different way to wear a longline corset?

It’s all about trying things when it comes to fashion.

6) Satin corset blouses

As I had mentioned, nowadays, corsets come in different styles. Lots of satin corsets come in blouse form and this makes it so easy to style. One of my best ways to do so is with a pair of low rise jeans (feel free to make them mid rise as well), mules and a mini purse.

You’ve got yourself an entire look which can work for different occasions. On a chillier day, feel free to add a blazer to this look.Post ImageGet the look HERE

7) Corset belt with jeans
Another introductory piece into the world of corset outfits is a corset belt. If you don’t have the patience to hook up a bustier or full corset but want in on this trend, then start off right here.

A simple way to style a corset belt is with black dresses and either heels or a pair of boots. Consider how thick your belt is before choosing the dress you’ll be pairing it with in order to avoid bunching and lumps forming in your dress. Or lose the dress and go for jeans!Post ImageGet the look HERE

A thinner dress would work best here. During the colder months, try this out with some of your sweater dresses to take your causal outfits up a notch.Post ImageAnd there we have it. I hope I have given you enough outfit ideas you would consider depending on the type of corset you own and/or purchase.

This is one of those fashion trends you can either dip your toes in or go full on with both casual outfits or more dressed up looks.

You don’t have to wait until your wedding day to cinch in that waist!

If you’re thinking of ways to style your corset with bottoms other than your jeans, try the following:

Pairing a bustier with loose pants or a pant suit.

Styling a corset blouse with a midi or maxi pencil skirt.

An underbust corset with a tank top and shorts.
